A Day on the Coast: Pescadero to Half Moon Bay

In Pescadero, take a “path less travelled” route back to Highway 1 over the idyllic and quiet Stage Road, lined with fields of horses, sheep and quaint countryside homes.
Pescadero spans one main street, lined with churches, quaint pastel-painted, hydrangea-covered homes and stores full of items ranging from knickknacks to antiques. Don’t miss St. Anthony’s Cemetery on North Street, with stones dating back to the early 1800s.
As you make your way down the coast, stop by the Half Moon Bay Harbor for a lunch or fireside beer at the Half Moon Bay Brewing Company or a taste of the ever-popular fresh catch at Barbara’s Fish Trap. After a good meal, walk the trail behind the small airport for a 360-degree view of the boats sailing the coast on one side and the planes doing touch-and-go maneuvers on the other.
After exploring the harbor area and downtown Half Moon Bay, take a 5-minute detour east on 92 and stop in at Spanish Town. If you have children, they will swoon over the life-size dinosaurs and prehistoric creatures while you peruse the eclectic collection of wares.
