If you live on the coast between Pacifica and Pescadero, you can get 20% off your meal at Sam’s. Wednesday is the night to get a reduced meal and beverage in the bar or restaurant. You need to bring a photo ID. The the special price runs now through April of 2012 between 4:30 and 9 p.m.

If you love crab, this is the place to get it. Sam’s gets their fresh Dungeness Crab from the water right in front of the restaurant.

Try the Chili-Garlic Roasted Dungeness Crab that they serve with drawn butter with a choice of two sides. You may want to choose Giusti Farms Brussels Sprouts with capers and lemon or the Roasted Garlic Mashed Potatoes.

The Pacifica Thai Restaurant at 1966 Francisco Boulevard has been a well-kept secret on the coast for over 13 years. It is open seven days a week, from 11:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays and until 10 p.m. on weekends. There are 100 exotic and carefully prepared items always available on the menu plus several deliciously sweet desserts and unusual beverages, all created with a Thailand touch. Enjoy a day in Half Moon Bay with family-friendly food and fun on Sunday, May 15, 2011 from 12 to 5 p.m.. Net proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Legion Coastside Post 474, to support coastside Fourth of July Fireworks.

On Sunday, May 15, Sam’s Chowder House will host the annual Sam’s Lobster Fest — a family-friendly coastal celebration of food and wine, fun and outdoor activities.

Guests will enjoy live music from several bands including South City Blues and For the Broken, oyster shucking and eating contests, arts and crafts booth, as well as a silent auction. Kids will have fun with train rides, face painting, hayrides, whipped cream eating contests and jumpy slides.

Sip a variety of wine and Anchor Steam brews, and prepare for seafood and picnic-style fare from Sam’s Chowder House, including steamed lobsters, corn on the cob, hamburgers, hot dogs and more. Sam’s ChowderMobile will also be on the scene serving their infamous Lobster Rolls and clam chowder. Treatbot karaoke ice cream truck will supply the sweets. Net proceeds from the event will be donated to the American Legion Coastside Post 474, to support coastside Fourth of July Fireworks.

Local celebrities on hand for the event include Damon Bruce, host of KNBR’s “The Damon Bruce Show,” and Jeff Clark, the founder of the surf-competition Maverick’s. Both will serve as judges for the oyster shucking and oyster eating contests.

An impressive list of silent auction items will be up for grabs including a broadcast booth meet and greet with famed Giants announcer Jon Miller plus club level seats, and for those seeking relaxation, an overnight stay at the Half Moon Bay Ritz-Carlton.

The event will happen at the American Legion Fairgrounds, 470 Capistrano Road, Half Moon Bay at Princeton Harbor.

Attendance is free, but tickets for food, drinks, rides, kids’ activities can be purchased online in advance at a discounted rate and collected at will call; buy 12 tickets for $10, 25 for $20, or 60 for $50. For $30, partake in Sam’s Lobster Bake – an authentic New England-style experience featuring fresh whole Maine lobsters and corn-on-the-cob, flavored with Maine lobster seaweed (served at 1:30 p.m., must be pre-ordered).
