Bike TO WORK DAY will be on Thursday, May 12. This year will be the Bay Area’s 17th annual celebration that promotes bicycling as a healthy, fun and viable form of transportation, with offers of great prizes and recognitions. Are you ready?

Biking With the Cops in Half Moon Bay

The Half Moon Bay Police Activities League presents Biking with Cops on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Cunha Middle School from 11am-1pm. Join the Half Moon Bay Police Officers as they lead participants through a variety of drills and competitions! Cameron’s Inn and Pub will be providing a BBQ for everyone and prizes will be awarded. All participants will get a certificate of participation. This event is totally FREE and, though focused on K through 8th graders, kids of all ages are invited.

Registration will be on site the day of the event: a parent or guardian’s signature is required. “We hope all will attend this fun filled community day. There may just be a few fun surprises in store!” said Susan Alvaro, chair of the Board of HMBPAL.

The mission of the Half Moon Bay Police Activities League (PAL) is to build a bond between police officers, community members and our youth. In collaboration with our partners, we strive to create a safe community while promoting the physical, social, and mental development of our youth.

San Mateo County Free Bicycle Rack Program

Did you know about the free bicycle racks or lockers for your business in San Mateo County? The county is currently offering secure bike parking for employees, customers or residents in San Mateo County. The offer will run until June 30, 2011 or until the funds run out.

Buy one bicycle rack or locker at 50% off, get one rack or locker FREE. The Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance will cover up to $500 for each rack purchased at 50% off and up to $1000 for the free racks or lockers. You may purchase multiple racks or lockers with this offer. The free racks or lockers must be of equal or lesser value than the 50% discounted racks or lockers.
