Crab Season 2012

Crab season 2012 opens today, November 15, for the Central Coast up to the North Bay’s Russian River. Commercial crab fishermen have been getting their pots ready at Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay and along the Bay Area coast. Dungeness crabs are a popular item and recreational fishermen have been in the water catching the crustaceans since November 2.

The season runs through June 2013. The season will open on December 1 for the northern coast up to the Oregon border.

Pillar Point Harbor in Half Moon Bay has its own resident harbor tour vessel, Irene. Now you can come down to “D” dock off Johnson Pier on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays where tours leave four times daily.
