Gwen O’Neill was a professional musician and pre-school music specialist in New Jersey where she owned a large music school. She was a board member for the NJ Women in Business organization, and in California, a charter member of the Women’s Exchange, a peninsula-based business organization. An interest in graphic arts led her to a career in publishing. |

Jeri has edited the newsletter of the National Association of Professional Organizers – San Francisco Bay Area and is currently a contributing editor for the National Study Group on Chronic Disorganization’s newsletter. Mary Knippel, Writer
Mary has always wanted to write and began writing for the Adams High School Tiger Tales in Minnesota. She dreamed of studying Journalism, but had to be content with a 1-year Secretarial Certificate. She lives with her husband, of 32 years, in Half Moon Bay and they have a 20-year-old daughter. Bob Walch
After spending 39 years teaching literature and helping other people improve their writing, Bob said good-bye to the high school classroom. Although he is now focusing on his own writing, Walch is still encouraging people to pick up a book and read. He pens weekly and monthly reviews for 15 newspapers, magazines and websites across the country. |

Alyssa J. O’Brien, Ph.D.
Alyssa is a writer and lecturer at Stanford University, where she teaches writing, public speaking, and cross-cultural communication in the Program in Writing and Rhetoric and in the Continuing Studies Program. Alyssa won the Phi Beta Kappa Outstanding Teaching Award in 2006 and what she enjoys most is helping people discover their voices in writing of all kinds. Janet Periat has been writing for CoastViews since 2000. In addition to her columns, Janet writes romance novels and humor books, available through all the major online bookstores. For the past fifteen years, she has performed as Master of Ceremonies for The Pescadero Arts and Fun Festival. In her spare time, Janet rides an extensive array of non-motorized two-wheeled vehicles. Luanne Paul King, Writer
Luanne Paul King is a writer, musician, pilot and educator who worked in the US, Europe and East Africa. She writes plays, films and historical novels. As a mezzo soprano she studied and performed music in Italy and Austria. In Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania she taught students at the International School and Mozambique refugees. Later, Luanne was director of the Educational Development Center at the Claremont Colleges. In HMB she is President of the Coastside Film Society and has fives sons and eight grandchildren. |

Dyane spent 20 years working for local newspapers. Although she is currently involved with other ventures she still loves writing about community news for various publications. Her passions include baking, ballet and baseball. She enjoys promoting and helping nonprofit organizations, especially faith-based groups. |

Monique has been involved in high tech since the 1980s. She has had an emphasis in computer graphics. Her work has taken her all over the world, teaching, setting up systems, and creating graphics. Monique is the owner of Screen Caffeen, an Internet strategy and web design company on the coast. |

Whitney Merrill, Writer
Whitney joined CoastViews in 2009, which has enabled him to pursue his passions for writing, photography and interviewing Coastal personalities. He works in Silicon Valley by day and also provides life coaching, specializing in working parents who have children. Whitney and his wife, Gretel, have a 2-year-old son and love raising him here on the Coast. They can often be found out at the beach or in the redwoods taking pictures. You can also spot them easily as all three have BIG smiles! |
